10th Jan 2017 | 18.00 to 20.00 | The Fleming Room, Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh, EH99 1SP
Gillian Martin MSP warmly welcomes you to join her for Family Friendly Working Scotland (FFWS) Parliamentary Reception on 10th January 2017.
The reception will be attended by stakeholders with an interest in improving working conditions for all employees in Scotland, and in particular those on low incomes. This evening will provide an excellent opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with key influencers and decision makers in an informal setting.
Discussions will be formed around our recently published research on low income families in Scotland and the lack of access to family friendly and flexible working. We will look at how to raise awareness and expectations of good work-life balance to Scotland’s low income workforce, which will enable families to thrive and could deliver huge benefits for employers.
We will also look ahead at how cross sector partnership working, access to good practice case studies and the support of the Scottish Government can help put fair work at the heart of every job.
As well as our MSP sponsor, speakers on the evening will include:
- Sarah Jackson OBE, CEO of Working Families
- Nikki Slowey, Programme Director of Family Friendly Working Scotland
- Francis Stuart, Research and Policy Adviser at Oxfam Scotland
- David Hanlan, People and Organisational Development Consultant at Scottish Water, A Scottish Top Employer for Workings Families Award Winner – Best Public Sector Employer
We would be delighted if you were able to join a lively evening of networking and discussion about how we live and work and what the future of work looks like.
If you would like to attend, please contact Layla-Roxanne Hill, Partnerships, Communications and Policy on firstname.lastname@example.org or 0141 353 5627 before 5th January 2017.
It be helpful if you could indicate if you have any specific access or dietary requirements.
We hope to see you there!
